it’s our theatre – Primary, was a project run in Thurrock in association with The Gateway Academy.

The project was a development of our established it’s our theatre model for Primary-School-aged children. In 2013 THEATRE IS...visited Herringham Primary, Lansdowne Primary and Gateway Primary to deliver roadshow performances of hip hop arts. Students from across the three schools came to the Gateway Academy for intensive after school workshops, culminating in a ‘Slam Night’ performance for friends and family.

A further 18 students were involved in developing the work to perform at the 65^th Anniversary Windrush celebrations on 23^rd June 2013 at the London Cruise Terminal.

During the workshops the children worked to achieve their ‘Discover and Explore’ Arts Award, with the help of THEATRE IS’ trained Arts Award Advisors.

it’s our theatre - Primary will be run in Thurrock in 2014 under the management of THEATRE IS… project manager Jen Farrant thanks to funding and support from the Arts Council England, Interreg and the Gateway Academy.

it's our theatre – primary » était un projet mené a Thurrock, en association avec la Gateway Academy. Le projet était un développement de notre modèle it’s our theatre établi pour les enfants d’école primaire. En 2013, THEATRE IS... ont visité les écoles primaires de Herringham, Lansdowne et Gateway, afin de monter des spectacles des arts du hip-hop. Des élèves des trois écoles sont venus à la Gateway Academy pour suivre des ateliers intensifs après l’école, aboutissant à la performance d'une Slam Night pour les amis et la famille. En outre, 18 élèves de ces écoles ont été impliqués dans le développement des représentations pour les célébrations du 65e anniversaire de Windrush, le 23 Juin 2013 au London Cruise Terminal. Pendant les ateliers, les enfants ont travaillé afin d’optenir leur prix d’art Discover and Explore, avec l'aide des conseillers de prix d’art de THEATRE IS…. it's our theatre – primary sera renouvelé à Thurrock en 2014 sous la direction de la gestionnaire de projet de THEATRE IS…, Jen Farrant, grâce au financement et au soutien du Arts Council England , Interreg et de la Gateway Academy.
